Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate 300mg is made from fumaric acid salt of bis isopropoxycarbonyloxymethyl ester derivative
of Tenofovir.
It is white to off-white crystalline powder and has an Octanol/phosphate buffer pH 6.5 partition coefficient (log p) of
1.25 at 25 degrees centigrade.
It is a prodrug and a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor analog of adenosine. it is an adenosine 5-
monophosphate analog that blocks RNA dependent DNA polymerase, resulting in the inhibition of viral replication.
It inhibits the replication of HBV by blocking HBV polymerase.
Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate Tablets are used in the treatment of HIV infections, chronic Hepatitis B virus, and HBV
infection. It reduces the amount of HIV in the blood that attacks the weakens the immune system.
It does not cure the infections but reduces the chances of AIDS/ other infections in the body and inhibits the
multiplication of viruses in human cells.
Monitor your heart, kidneys, and liver health regularly while on this medication.
Tell your doctor about your medical history, the medications you are already taking, and the ingredients that you are
allergic to.
Take the medicine at the same time every day, do not skip/overdose/overlap the dose as it will delay the treatment.
The medicine is restricted to pregnant women, planning for pregnancy, and breastfeeding mothers.
